As Chicago Bears fans, we are fortunate to root for one of the most recognizable franchises on the planet. The lore of the '85 Bears will live on forever, and characters such as the "Superfans" continue to fuel Bears hysteria 20 years later. One of the benefits of loving a franchise like the Chicago Bears is their story is so rich in history it would be impossible for some of the best sports books to not be about the Monsters of the Midway. To be a good sports book you must have a compelling storyline and who better than the Bears and their list of legendary players and coaches? All of the compelling novels on sports must capture your imagination as well, so here are a few of the best sports books on the Chicago Bears. "Amazing Tales from the Chicago Bears Sideline" (2011) by Steve McMicheal, John Mullin, Phil Arvia Former Bears Defensive Tackle Steve McMichael guides you through some of the wildest times he had as a Chicago Bear. McMichael recounts events the average fan would never know giving this book a reason to be one of the best sports books on the market for Bears fans. And all Bears fans need a good sports book for the offseason. "Sportsfan Chronicles" (2011) by Kurt Weichert All of us have dreamed of owning the Bears, and this one of those novels on sports where you can live that dream. Two successful Chicago salesman buddies who live a wild life end up winning half of the largest lottery of all-time. So what do they want to do? Buy the Bears of course! Only problem is, their hated ex-boss has the other half needed to seal the deal. "SportsFan Chronicles" is one of a series of novels on sports with the second book due September 2012. "Never Die Easy: The Autobiography of Walter Payton" (2001) by Walter Payton, Dan Yeager Although Walter Payton is treasured by Bears fans, we share him with the world due to his work ethic and demeanor. In fact, the NFL changed their Man of the Year Award to the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award shortly after his death in 1999. This autobiography is easily one of the best sports books for Bears fans because it tells the story of Walter Payton from the man himself. We all may know him for his heroics on the field, but his heroics off the field are what made him such a great man and this agood sports book.
